Crucial point: you need some backlink for your website, and here you will discover how-to do it in a fast and secure way. Here we assume that you built really great content that need to be linked (inbound linking), and focused your topics/web-apps/widget in a very useful way for your readers/clients. So there is something you need to know before proceeding.
Natural link building. There are three ways, without loss of generality, for building backlinks:
1) natural way: you just wait for others webmaster cite/link your pages (link baiting);
2) semi-natural: "arises from building relationships between Web
sites for non-search related purposes — brand and visibility building,
traffic building, and community building" (see Seo Theory)
3) artificial: built using SEO software, or created by hasty and a bit "conspiratorial" SEO consultants.
Natural link building seems to be the only "legal", secure and good strategy for increasing visibility of your website, and (within a certain probability, i.e. "not really 100% guaranteed") improve your rankings for some keyword. In real cases you need to use semi-natural linking strategies, because i.e. there are so much competitors and you (or your client) can't wait anymore. For building these backlink we will exploit some well-known Google operators, and we assume that:
- abc.com is the site to be promoted;
- keyphrase ise the keyword you are searching for (i.e. very competitive & long-tailed one).
LET THE BUILDING BEGIN!
In this tutorial I will use "search patterns", which in some circumstances are also said "footprints".
Some readers - a bit naive - might have thought: well, I have to use of the link: operator!

link:abc.com keyphrase
Please do not mess, and remember, in this regard, what said Cutts in a video-answer: very useful things that I will not repeat here. What you need to know for our purposes are basically two things:
1) link: shows just the existing backlinks;
2) link: shows a random subset of the existing backlinks;
That's not our case! We want to join new SEO shores, so we need to be a little more creative, ok?
Diagnostic Tools
- site:abc.com -> shows all indexed pages in abc.com
- site:abc.com keyphrase -> shows all indexed pages in abc.com with some keyphrase occurrence
- site:.com -> shows just .com websites
- site:.com keyphrase -> shows just .com websites with some keyphrase occurrence
You may also exclude a site from your search (i.e. if you don't want to add a backlink from there, or you know this is not useful/impossible) using "-" (minus) operator:
Definition: The site: operator returns results just included (indexed) in the Web site (abc.com) or domain extension (gov, edu, net, com, biz, etc.) you defined.
